I needed to pay my Shell bill online today. I normally pay it through the snail mail but I forgot and the due date is 10/14. So, now I’m scrambling to set up an account and it is fraught with obstacles. harumphhh..but I don’t mind. This reminds me of other Shell Stuff like Shell Game–Shell Corporation–Shell of a Man..It’s not a word that has great connotation.
The Shell Game congures up images of the guy on the street offering you the chance to win easy bucks if you can find the nut under the three shells while he moves the shells with quick sleight of hand. The Shell Company congures up images of a fake company behind a fake company behind a fake company etc…all in the hopes that you really don’t know which company you’re dealling with. You get the drift.
Well, a belief system that takes up residence in your psyche is sort of like that Shell Corporation. It’s a sham. It’s a lie. It doesn’t really exist. It only exists because you give it the power to exist. What belief system do you have that has moved in lock, stock, and barrel only to no longer serve you on this particular path of your journey?
Is it the fact that you believe that “if it weren’t for bad luck you’d have no luck at all?” Or what about “I was born with a dark cloud over me.” or “Spiritual people should not be concerned about money.” or “My brother is the golden child of the family.” There’s a million of ‘em.
Dare to stare them in the face..dare to shine the light of truth on them…dare to see that behind the curtain is not the great and powerful Oz but just a tiny old man..tired and lost..a shell of a man. Know that prosperity is your birthright..that joy is the basis of your life…that freedom is the purpose of your life. Know this and know love. Your beliefs get better, your thoughts get better, your feelings get better. The better it gets the better it gets. Pretty soon you’ll be saying to yourself, “I feel like I won the lottery!”..and you’ll mean it..and the universe will take you seriously and reflect back into your life circumstance sand situations that will let you say, “I fell like I won the lottery!”
I Feel Like I Won The Lottery!! It’s the truth I tell ya!! I am a rich human being. Rich with a loving husband, an amazing daughter, a funny son, deep friendships, an exciting career…have I lost you yet? You’re waitng for the “but”.
Excuse me if I don’t want to go there with you. You see, I prefer to focus on the things I appreciate. I prefer to focus on those things I am grateful for. What you focus on EXPANDS…no ifs, ands, or buts. The “other stuff” I don’t give much air time to..I do not like to waste the energy. I prefer to stay in contentment, in joy, in delight.
Do I ever take a day trip to LowDownDawgsVille? Of course. That town has a 7-11 convenience store where I can easily grab a bag of pity chips, sad songs are 2/$3.00, and I can pour myself an 84 ounce glass of all men are jerks…and throw in some cigarettes for when I’m smokin’ mad. The trip back home always feels longer than the trip to get there. Sure, I can buy some lottery tickets in LowDownDawgsVille. But I think my odds of winning are the same whether I play or not. That’s why I prefer to say, “I feel like I won the lottery.” I mean it. Can you say it and mean it?
I confess…confession is good for the soul..so, I confess. Now I am having second thoughts. Let me reconsider. I may just be able to write today’s stuff and just not confess what I was going to confess. Instead, I want to revisit those old belief systems that are well worn and oh so very comfortable. A belief so mightily ingrained that it can’t even be seen or spotted anymore.
It is truly part of the landscape. Like a comfortable old night shirt~thread bare~barely hanging on~and a material diary of the last 15 years, an outmoded belief that really no longer serves you ~ yet, you continue to entertain it. Yes, it knocks on your door and you let it in. Not only do you let it in but you have the room lit with candles and mood lighting, there is some Barry White in the background, and you pour wine for the two of you from a box. You entertain that belief..you serve it wine..and you may even have a roll in the hay with it.. In the morning you wake up,,your mascara streaked, schmeared, and schmudged and you smell of cheap wine and pity.
Next time, when the door bell rings you can answer it..but..instead of inviting that old belief of lack, poverty, victimhood, constriction,or whatever you name it in to your head just say “Hi” and give it one of those Mickey D coupons for a free cone and say adieu or adios or sayonara, or even bon voyage. Oh and forget I ever mentioned about the 15 year old thread bare nite sirt..and no, there is no stocking cap that goes with that. It’s the truth I tell ya..the sacred truth.
My first thought today is to continue with my Dirty Harry impersonation..that’s because at my core I believe that nothing exceeds like excess..and I tend to always go too far. So, I shall pull the reins back and NOT do my Eastwood…but that shouldn’t keep you from still imagining me doing it..(te he te he)..While I have you under my control and in my power I will now implant the HRPuffinstuff song.. h r pufinstuff..hypnotizeddon’t hate me just cause I can do this stuff.
On my screensaver I have a pic of a bamboo forest. Why? It is an instant reminder to me about the Law of Gestation~the time it takes to manifest things from the non physical into the physical..once bamboo is planted it takes a long time before its tender little shoots even break ground…oh but when it does LOOK OUT. THAT BAMBOO CAN GROW 80 feet in a week..(first warning~ I tend to speak in hyperbole). But you get the point. So..don’t quit. don’t give up..Your dreams, like the tiny bamboo shoot, may not have broken the ground yet… but it still growing underground and the Universe is arranging all its bamboo molecules so that once it breaks ground it can go from 0 to100 in a heartbeat.
I want to go to San Diego..lay on the beach..look at the ocean..enjoy the sea of humanity..But, alas, I am in Tucson. Trips can be fun and enjoyable and this trip will be as well. I decided that I will not turn around and go back to Tucson just because I am in Nevada. I am just not in San Diego…yet. Just like those bamboo shoots have not broken ground yet. But how many times have we given up on a dream or a desire because we hadn’t “seen” evidence of it, YET.??
Hence, a little thing I like to call BUFFER TIME.his pants are too big What have you been gestating that hasn’t shown up in your 3-D world of experience YET? Just because you’re not in San Diego are you gonna turn around and “go backwards” or even “quit”. C’mon. You’re made of tougher substance than that..In fact, you are made up of the same things the planet, the universe, the stars are made of…..Now, fold up your lawn chairs, get back in your camper, get out that crusty Atlas, fill up your gas tank and point yourself in the direction of San Diego. You’ve got BAMBOO waiting. Tomorrow I will tell you a little story about how a rabbi, a priest, and a congressman walked into a bar and there was a talking frog taking orders.
Do ya? Well, do ya? feel lucky, that is. Picture me doing my best Eastwood impression circa 1970. I was watching the TLC channel on Saturday night…a show called How the Lottery Changed my Life. Before you go thinking that I must have no life at all cause I am home on a Sat. night AND I am watching The Learning Channel hear me and hear me well: “You don’t know me…uh-uh! don’t you go thinkin’ you know me cause you don’t know me.”
Anyway, I am getting somewhere with this…my point is this. (long story short) ~from the show~husband and wife trying to have a baby for years…going to fertility clinic for years to no avail…finally the wife’s sister volunteers to act as a surrogate and have this couple’s baby. The baby is born (darling girl) and everyday as the husband and wife look at this precious miracle they say aloud, “I feel like I won the lottery.” Every day–several times a day. Soooo, one Christmas the husband buys the wife some scratch off tickets…and, yep…you guessed it. They win the lottery!!
Now, as a Certified Law of Attraction Coach, this makes serious sense to me. We attract from our feelings. And when we’re feeling great…appreciative…like we won the frickin’ lottery…the Law of Attraction or that Great Cosmic Mirror reflects right back to us what we are feeling. It is why it is so important that we begin to take responsibility for our feelings…when we feel better~life gets better. My friend Max likes to say, “The better it gets-the better it gets.” and I believe her because it is happening to me and many of the people in my circle. You are worth choosing the better feeling thought. It takes a little bit of time and commitment but it is sooo very worth it. Feeling Example: “I feel like my life sucks…there is a dark cloud over me.” or “I feel like I won the lottery.” Which thought is a better feeling thought? I think it was Henry Ford that said, ” if you think you can or if you think you can’t-you’re right.”
Of course, I have seen manifesting ones desires happen very quickly…IN THE BLINK OF AN EYE… But, in general, there is a time of gestation. Julie (my daughter and business partner) and I call this “Buffer Time“. It is the time it takes to get from the non physical realm to the physical. More tomorrow on BUFFER TIME…
